"Heritage" Party leader continues his hunger strike in Armenia

Raffi Ovannisyan, leader of the "Heritage" Party, continues his hunger strike started on March 15 in Freedom Square of Yerevan. According to his story he is going to hold in the square as long as his health permits.

"The society should not sit at home and wait for changes in social life," said the leader of the "Heritage" in his comment to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent and added that people "should be the owners of their country."

"I don't urge or ask; I don't even demand. I just hope that the current emergency situation will get resolved; and the current authorities will lay down their powers," said Ovannisyan.

He was visited by doctors; they examined him and said that Mr Ovannisyan is healthy. He also does not complain, although is only drinking water from the start of his hunger strike.
