Georgian death toll in Afghanistan reaches 7 persons

On March 14, the Georgian Ministry of Defence issued a release about the death in a German hospital of Corporal Valery Verskiani, who on March 5 hit a mine in Afghanistan.

In the explosion, Valery Verskiani received three wounds in his neck area. The Corporal served in the 32nd Battalion in the Gelmend Province.

The wounded servicemen from the same battalion - infantry company commander Aluda Seturidze and Corporal Revaz Giorgadze - continue taking their treatment at the same military hospital. Their state of health is satisfactory, as reported by the IA "News-Georgia".

Mr Verskiani is the seventh soldier of the Ministry of Defence who perished in the peacemaking operation in Afghanistan.
