Man killed by grenade explosion in Nalchik was in federal search

The man, who blew himself up by a grenade in the evening on March 8 in Nalchik, the capital of Kabardino-Balkaria, has been identified as Beslan Abazov, a local resident. The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed about by a source from law enforcement bodies.

According to his story, Abazov had been on the federal search list on suspicion of terrorist activities.

Let us remind you that on March 8 at about 8:30 p.m. in Nalchik in the vicinity of Secondary School No. 19, inspectors of the Patrol and Post Service (PPS) tried to stop a man, whose behaviour seemed suspicious to them. The man started running away, trying at the same time to release a check pin of a grenade. As a result, the grenade blew up in his hands, killing him on the spot. The body was examined; and a Stechkin pistol and 20 rounds were found on it.
