Bike taxis will carry tourists in Batumi
Starting May this year, the authorities of the capital of Adzharia will offer a new service to city visitors. The guests of the resort will be able to use bike taxis.
The most environment-friendly, cheap and safe transport will move around the old town, the seaside promenade and the botanical gardens.
As reported by the "News-Georgia", in the near future the Batumi Mayoralty and the Department for Tourism and Resorts will choose the best taxi model. It is expected that at first the city will buy about 70 bike taxis, said the "GHN".
According to Giorgi Kirtadze, Chairman of Batumi Sakrebulo (City Council), an Irish company has already expressed its interest in the project; its representatives will arrive in Batumi by the end of March to discuss the details.
