In Azerbaijan, 17 judges held liable for offences

As a result of the monitoring held in the courts of Azerbaijan, violations have been revealed, which stimulate corruption; in this context, disciplinary proceedings have been initiated against 17 judges.

"Among the negative facts revealed in the course of monitoring there were artificial restrictions of citizens' legitimate right to lodge appeals; not all the measures were taken to ensure participation of parties in litigation, etc.," the "1news.az" quotes the press service.

The "Trend" adds that for gross human rights violations, deliberate red tape, impeding citizens' implementation of their legal rights, it was decided to early dismiss Gusein Guseinov, a judge of the Gedabey District; Marif Kyazimov, a judge of the Binagadi Court of Baku, will be removed to another place of work; and Farkhad Afandiev, a judge of the Mingyachevir City Court, was reprimanded.
