Three persons suffered in shootout in Nazran

A law enforcement officer was killed today during a shootout in central Nazran. Besides, a suspected militant was killed and one more was wounded.

"Based on available information, at about 5:10 p.m. Moscow time in Bazorkin Avenue in Nazran militiamen blocked a car; and people opened fire from inside it," said a source from law enforcement bodies of Ingushetia.

According to the source, a gunfire burst out, during which, according to preliminary data, one militiaman was killed (by other sources - injured), the ITAR-TASS reports.

According to law enforcement bodies, an alleged militant was also killed; another assailant was wounded. It is still unclear, how many persons were in the car as a whole. Their personalities are now established.

The place of the incident is studied by an operative-investigatory group; the details of the incident are established, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
