International Organization "Lions Clubs" sends parcel to Beslan children

The international NGO named "Lions Clubs", which is regularly providing assistance to victims of the Beslan terror act, has sent another shipment to North Ossetia - three boxes of school supplies for Beslan children.

The parcel came from the US state of Tennessee to the Russian Embassy in Washington, DC. Then, it was delivered to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which contacted the Permanent Mission of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania under the Russian President.

"When we saw the inscription 'Lions Clubs', we understood where the parcel was from, and whom we should thank, because the members of this NGO help us since the day of the tragedy," Lyudmila Plieva, head of the administration of the local government of Beslan, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Let us note here that in November 2004 a branch of the "Lions Clubs" was founded in Beslan and headed by Vadim Bogiev, Olympic Champion of 1996 in wrestling. The Lions Clubs is implementing a programme of psychological help to children of Beslan. With the help of the Clubs two computer classes were equipped in the inter-school training combine. Also, activists of the NGO held an exhibition of Beslan children's pictures in Moscow. Thanks to the "Lions Clubs", Beslan operates a psychological rehabilitation centre since 2009.
