Price on Russian gas for Armenia not to go up in 2011
Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has promised not to raise gas price for Armenia. This was one of the outcomes of negotiations with his Armenian counterpart Serzh Sargsyan in St Petersburg on February 25.
"Moreover, for socially vulnerable segments of the population the price of gas will even go down. The President of Armenia instructed to develop appropriate mechanisms," the "Aysor.am" quotes Mr Sargsyan's press secretary.
Under the agreement, Armenia buys 1000 cubic meters of gas from Russia for 180 US dollars and sells it in the domestic market to the population at 340 dollars, and to large enterprises - at 243.13 dollars, the "Gazeta.Ru" reports.
