Georgia to assemble electric vehicles
The Government of Georgia is drafting a five-year-long programme for building electric vehicles, said Vera Kobaliya, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development.
She also said that the Georgian Government is negotiating with the Renault that the electric vehicles, which will be bought by the Georgian party, were assembled in Georgia.
"It'll be much cheaper for us to use electric cars. We want to create more jobs; therefore, we are in talks with the Renault and other companies. We offer them to assemble the cars we buy from them in Georgia. Presently, the Government is drafting a five-year programme, including the project 'Green Georgia', under which electric cars will be exported," said the minister.
According to her story, in 2011 Georgia will buy 1000 electric vehicles.
