Russian President signs resignation of head of Karachay-Cherkessia
Dmitry Medvedev has signed a decree on early dismissal of Boris Ebzeev, President of Karachay-Cherkessia.
Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" reported that the president's press service had failed to confirm the information about Boris Ebzeev's resignation, which was spread by the analytical portal "Ansar.Ru" saying that Ebzeev had applied for resignation in his own will.
As reported by the press office of the President of Karachay-Cherkessia, Rashid Temrezov, Deputy of the People's Assembly (Parliament) of the republic, was appointed to be the acting head until appointment of the new President.
Boris Ebzeev was nominated to the post of President of Karachay-Cherkessia on July 30, 2008, by Russian President Dmitry Medvedev. On August 4, 2008, his candidacy was approved by the People's Assembly.
