Five power agents wounded in the Kabardino-Balkaria

Five law enforcers received gunshot wounds of varying gravity in the course of a clash with suspected militants in Kabardino-Balkaria.

It was earlier reported that as a result of a skirmish between suspected militants and special fighters of the interior troops in the mountains of Kabardino-Balkaria in the Elbrus District four special fighters were wounded. In the armed clash three suspected militants were killed, while four more managed to escape.

According to the Investigatory Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), power agents are now conducting a counterterrorist operation in the country road running from the village of Bylym, Elbrus District, towards the Chegem Canyon.

Supposedly, about five people opened fire on law enforcement officers and militaries.

"As a result of criminal acts, five law enforcers received gunshot wounds of varying gravity," said the Committee.

The skirmish, according to the ICRF continues; the opening of a criminal investigation is considered, according to the RIA "Novosti".

The "Caucasian Knot" has also reported that the counterterrorist operation regime is currently in force in the Elbrus and partly in the Baksan Districts of Kabardino-Balkaria.
