Rally "For Fair Elections!" held in Stavropol Territory

On February 19, in the city of Ipatovo, Stavropol Territory, a rally demanded fair elections of the head of their municipality formation.

The rally was attended by 80-100 persons, including residents of surrounding villages, entrepreneurs, and Cossacks.

The action was initiated by businessman Mikhail Shevchenko, a deputy of the city and district councils of deputies and a self-nominee to the post of the head of Ipatovo - the territorial election commission refused to register him.

Mr Shevchenko voiced out complaints to the head of district administration in terms of social issues of Ipatovo the city, including construction of a bypass road. He said there were "pocket", obviously weak candidates, sometimes known to nobody, from other localities of the district.
