Turkey and Georgia simplify border crossing
Passing across the Georgian-Turkish border will be possible without presenting foreign passports; the domestic IDs will be enough. This was announced today at a briefing in Tbilisi by Foreign Ministers of the two countries Grigol Vashadze and Akhmet Davutoglu. Besides, it is planned to open new crossing points.
Currently, the visa-free regime is in force between Georgia and Turkey. "Simplification of border crossing between Georgia and Turkey, and additional crossing points suit economic interests of both countries," said the Turkish Foreign Minister.
According to his Georgian counterpart Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze, apart from simplification of border crossing, it is planned to open new crossing points and improve the existing settlements in Kartsakhi (Samtskhe-Javakheti District) and Sarpi (Adzharia), the IA "News-Georgia" reports.
