CIA experts have doubts that terror in Domodedovo was organized by Umarov

Stratfor Analytic center integrating the veterans of CIA has issued an analytical note in which it did not rule out that Dokku Umarov, one of the gunmen's leaders, had taken the responsibility for terror in Domodedovo in order to raise his rating among the members of armed underground.

"Umarov is interested in attributing this terror act to himself. It has been rather a high-sounding one: a number of foreigners and Russians perished in one of the biggest airports of the country", analytical note of the Center on Umarov's wide-spread video message runs. It is emphasized in the document that Umarov's positions, just like the ones of other leaders of Caucasian gunmen, has weakened and the Caucasus Emirate is split.

In the opinion of CIA experts, Umarov is eager to demonstrate that he "is not that week as Russian and foreign special services think". "We have not been convinced that the terror has been committed upon Umarov's order although he had taken this responsibility", the note runs.

Julia Latynina, observer of "Novaya Gazeta", remarks in her turn that both Dokku Umarov's messages appeared on the Internet much later than the act of terror happened. According to the expert, the fact that the messages could not reach the Net for almost two weeks demonstrates weakness of the gunmen's communicating ability. She presumes that the message was not sent via electron coupling but "the flesh drive was being passed from hand to hand for a couple of weeks, a speed typical of the epoch of camels, semaphores and mail pits".

"The Caucasus Emirate" is extremely weak. There is a confusion among its emirs. Its leader cannot physically support normal communications, hides himself from every rustle and is an object of chase from both his enemies who want to annihilate him and his subordinates wishing to take his place", Latynina remarks.
