Volgograd Region: prosecutor accused of bribery sentenced to five years in prison

The Court of the Sredneakhtubinskiy District of the Volgograd Region found Alexander Shtokolov, former district prosecutor, guilty of a fraud attempt. According to investigators, he had promised to help a local entrepreneur to acquire land plots for a bribe of over 4 million roubles.

"The court has sentenced Shtokolov to five years of minimum security colony. The defendant was arrested in the courtroom," Oleg Pikurov, spokesman of the Regional Prosecutor's Office, told the "Interfax".
