Azerbaijan evacuates its citizens from Egypt

Azerbaijan continues evacuating its citizens from Egypt. In the period from January 31 to February 3, 60 persons came home from there.

"Most of them were sent by the "Turkish Airlines" to Istanbul, the rest of them - to Moscow," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed at the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.

From Istanbul and Moscow, citizens of Azerbaijan were transported to Baku by the Azerbaijani airline "AZAL"; they did not have to pay for their air travel.
The Azerbaijani Embassy in Cairo, though within a limited scope, continues its activities and provides assistance to Azerbaijani citizens who still remain in Egypt for various reasons.

The manifestations with a demand of economic and political reforms and resignation of President Hosni Mubarak, who has been ruling for 30 years, started in Egypt on January 25 and continue for 11 days already. Hundreds have perished, and more than five thousand were injured.
