Business ombudsman starts his work in Georgia
The newly appointed business ombudsman, whose mission is to protect businessmen's rights of and to mediate between them and the government, starts his work in Georgia.
As told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Giorgi Pertaya, the business ombudsman of Georgia, his post is assumed by the new Tax Code, which entered into force on January 1, 2011.
"The general functions of the business ombudsman include the right to prepare all the documents for the governmental agencies, departments and ministries," explained Mr Pertaya. "He has the right not to disclose the information provided by businessmen and once a year to make a report on the work fulfilled to the financial and budget committee of the Parliament.
According to the business ombudsman, in his work he will pay more attention to small and medium businesses.
