Refugees hold protest action before Parliament of Georgia

Another protest action, organized by refugees from Abkhazia and South Ossetia, starts in front of the Parliament of Georgia.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that several hundreds of forced resettlers were going to apply to the US Embassy for political asylum. "Already up to 150 refugees have asked for asylum from the German Embassy, and about the same number - from the Embassy of France. In the near future, about 300 refugees plan to do it with the US Embassy," said David Malazoniya, head of "Civil Movement of Refugees".

The refugee will be also supported by activists of the Conservative Party, "People's Party" and the organization "Free Georgia", the "GeorgiaTimes.info" reports.

According to Georgian authorities, last year 22,000 refugee families received housing in Georgia: 10,000 - own housing area in Tbilisi, the rest of them - in the countryside. This year, the Ministry plans to build 32 housing blocks in Poti, 10 - in Tskhaltubo and 52 - in Batumi.
