Kabardino-Balkaria: head of Chegem District Administration dies, his driver wounded
As a result of the today's attempt on Mikhail Mambetov, head of the administration of the Chegem District of Kabardino-Balkaria, his driver was wounded. Mambetov died in hospital.
Mikhail Mambetov was attacked today at 7:30 p.m. in Chegem. It was reported that a group of unidentified made an armed attack on his household.
"An unidentified made four shots from a 9-mm firearm at Mikhail Mambetov, when he was on his way home," said the spokesman of the Investigatory Department for Kabardino-Balkaria of the Investigatory Committee at the Prosecutor's Office (ICPO) of the Russian Federation.
Mambetov died in hospital from his wounds; his driver received a tangent face wound.
A criminal case was initiated under Articles 105 and 222 of the Russian Criminal Code.
