Supposed member of "Tsapok's gang" tries to cut veins in Novorossiysk SIZO
Vitaly Ivanov, a member of the so-called "Sergey Tsapok's gang", who is not accused of murdering 12 persons in the village of Kuschevskaya, but is a figurant in other murder cases, attempted to commit suicide in Novorossiysk SIZO (pre-trial prison).
"On January 23, in a cell of Novorossiysk SIZO Ivanov used a razor blade to inflict cuts on his left wrist and abdomen," said the press service of the Investigatory Department of the Investigatory Committee for the Krasnodar Territory.
The detainee explained that he "wanted to escape criminal liability in this way," stating that "nobody had caused any moral or physical pressure on him." Ivanov was given medical help; and now his life is out of dander, the "Interfax" reports.
This is not the first suicide attempt, undertaken by Ivanov. Last December, while in SIZO in Kuschevskaya, the 28-year-old detainee broke the glass and cut his neck with fragments. Arkady Kornienko, Ivanov's cellmate, asserts that the latter was always in a depressed state, the "Life News" reports.
