Employee of Azerbaijani Embassy perished in riots in Cairo

Nidzhat Godzhaev, an official of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Cairo, was lost during the riots in Egypt.

Mr Godzhaev was killed in a street in Cairo, when he was on his way home from his work, said Elkhan Polukhov, head of the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA). According to his story, Godzhaev worked with the administrative and technical staff of the Embassy.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" reported that the government of Azerbaijan decided to evacuate its nationals from Egypt.

Yesterday, on January 30, an aircraft was sent from Baku to Cairo to evacuate citizens of Azerbaijan; currently, about 70 citizens of Azerbaijan live and study in Egypt; however, there is no data about the Azerbaijani tourists now in Egypt.
