Selection of jurors on Markelov's murder case appointed on February 15
The Moscow City Court (MCC) appointed selection of the jury at the trial on the murder of Stanislav Markelov and Anastasia Baburova on February 15.
Initially, the selection was appointed on January 27. The court was to choose 12 main and 2 reserve jurors. However, the MCC has ruled to postpone the selection, since only 18 candidates out of 60 summoned ones appeared at the court.
Meanwhile, the number of advocates of the defendants Khasis and Tikhonov increased to six persons. At least two of them specialize in defending nationalists - Alexander Vasiliev and Maxim Korotkov-Gulyaev; the latter entered the trial on January 27.
Judge Lyubov Nikolenko, which runs the murder case of Markelov and Baburova, had run similar litigations more than one. The legal community refers her positively.
