About 70 persons rally in protest against higher rates on utilities in Maikop
Within the All-Russian action, on January 28, pickets were held in the capital of the Republic of Adygea and districts against increased tariffs on communal utilities.
"About 70 persons went out to Lenin Square with demands reflected in their slogans and banners: 'Against increased tariffs on utilities', 'Against commercialization of education and health care', 'Stop foodstuff price growth'," runs the official website of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF).
At the same time, the authorities do not plan a sharp rise in communal tariffs. In the first quarter of 2011 the growth of total citizens' payments for communal services made 8.9 percent; and by the end of the year the planned growth will make 13.3 percent, the "Yuga.ru" writes.
