Deputy head of Transit militia in North-Caucasian Federal Okrug detained for suspicion of bribery

Sergey Levchenko, Deputy head of Transit Department of the Ministry of Interior Affairs in North-Caucasian Federal Okrug, is suspected of bribe-taking to a sum of 50 thousand rubles, Press service of Southern Transit Prosecutor's office reports.

According to the data of pre-investigative inspection, Levchenko received bribes in form of alcohol production and money every month from September, 2010, till January, 2011, from an employee of one of the subordinate transit line departments of interior affairs for general service patronage.

Southern Transit Investigative Department of Prosecutor's committee of the Russian Federation has started criminal proceedings. Levchenko has been detained and placed in a temporary detention facility, selection of the further preventive punishment form is currently under consideration, "Interfax" reports.
