Militiamen detain two local residents in Dagestan

Zulfiya Magomedova, a resident of the village of Shamkhal-Station, Kirov District of Makhachkala, has reported that local law enforcers took away - without any explanations - her two brothers: Abdurakhman and Magomed Gaziev.

"In the morning, armed militiamen in masks surrounded the house of my brothers. Some of them went into the house and started searching it without presenting a warrant." They found nothing but took away Islamic literature stating that it was Wahhabite, a computer and leaflets calling not to celebrate the New Year. At the end of the search - also with no explanation they detained my brothers - Abdurakhman and Magomed. We know nothing about their whereabouts; now, all the relatives and friends are searching them," said Magomedova.

She added that her brothers were not involved in anything; however, they were registered by local militia as followers of Wahhabism.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the on duty unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Dagestan and at the Kirov ROVD (District Interior Division) that they had no information about the incident.
