Kalitsov: ban on sale of border land to foreigners is aimed at protecting these territories

According to Sergey Kalitsov, Deputy Minister on Property and Land Relations of North Ossetia, the main idea of the ban on sale of land to foreign persons introduced in several regions of Russia is to ensure safety of these territories.

The Decree "On Approving the List of Pre-Border Territories, where Foreign Citizens, Stateless Persons and Foreign Legal Entities May not Hold Titles on Land" was signed by the President of the Russian Federation on January 9.

The list includes 380 districts and cities, including four municipal formations of North Ossetia - the Iraf, Alagir and Prigorodny Districts and the city of Vladikavkaz.

The list of territories, where sale of land is restricted, also includes 12 municipal formations of the Krasnodar Territory, 18 municipal formations in Dagestan, 7 districts of the Astrakhan Region, 17 municipalities of the Rostov Region, as well as several other regions of the North-Caucasus Federal District and the Southern Federal District (NCFD and SFD).
