Farmer detained in Kalmykia on suspicion of abduction and use of slavery labour
In the Chernozemelskiy District of Kalmykia, law enforcers detained an owner of a private cattle farm, who illegally detained residents of Astrakhan and Stavropol Territory and forced them to work for him.
According to a source from law enforcement bodies of the region, four men were illegally kept at the farm, three of whom were residents of Stavropol, and the fourth one was a resident of Astrakhan.
The master forced them to work without paying wages," said the source. "It was also established that they had been in different time kidnapped and brought to the farm."
A criminal case on the fact was initiated under part 2, Article 126 of the Criminal Code - "kidnapping", the "Interfax-South" reports.
