Dagestan: three detectives detained on suspicion of bribe extortion
Three operative agents of the Department of Criminal Search of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of the Republic of Dagestan were detained during a joint operation of the MIA's own security service and the FSB Department on suspicion of extorting a bribe.
According to the press service of the above Dagestani FSB Department, on January 19, employees of the above two services detained a taxi driver - an intermediary in receiving a bribe of 200,000 roubles.
According to investigators, a bribe was extorted by three officers from the Criminal Search Department from a woman-resident of Makhachkala for non-initiation of a criminal case on the crime that she had allegedly prepared.
"In the course of further operative actions the three extortionists were established and identified by the applicant on photos. The detainees are: Militia Major Shamil Khazamov, Senior Detective of the Department of Criminal Search at the MIA of Dagestan; Militia Major Gasamudin Feizullaev, an operative officer; and Senior Lieutenant Elman Daudov, an operative officer," said the MIA.
According to the Dagestani FSB, all the three were detained in the order of Article 91 of the Code of Criminal Procedure and are kept in the temporary detention facility of Makhachkala. The "Interfax-South" reports that a criminal case was opened against them under Article 290, Part 4, of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (bribery).
