In Dagestan, Imam Nail Bikmaev released from custody
The freedom restriction measure of Nail Bikmaev, Imam of the Jami (Cathedral Mosque) of Rostov-on-Don, was changed under the personal security of his father, Mufti of the Rostov Region Dzhafar Bikmaev. This decision was made today at the sitting of the commission in charge of rendering assistance in adaptation to peaceful life to those persons who have decided to stop their terrorist and extremist activities, which is headed by Rizvan Kurbanov, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Dagestan.
As stated by Mr Kurbanov, the republic's leadership and law enforcement officials had received numerous requests, in which Nail Bikmaev, who was detained in Makhachkala, was characterized positively, and which asked to replace his custody for recognizance not to leave. Such requests arrived from the SAM (Spiritual Administration of Muslims) of the Rostov Region, the Administration of Rostov and Rostov Region, the Central SAM of Russia and many other organizations.
Rizvan Kurbanov made an offer to Nail Bikmaev to become his assistant. "In this position you will be able to apply your knowledge and explain young people, where the right way is," said Rizvan Kurbanov. In response, Nail's father - Dzhafar Bikmaev - said that first his son should see his mother; then they would think over the proposal.
