In Georgia, march "Alilo" held in honour of Christmas
The Christmas procession "Alilo", which has 15 centuries of history, was held on January 7 in Georgia. During the "Alilo" donations were gathered to be later distributed among orphanages, old-age homes, hospitals and needy families.
Every year, on the Christmas, after the Christmas liturgy, the believers of different churches go out and take part in the march, the ITAR-TASS reports.
Among those who contributed to the charity donations, was a 9-year-old Demetre: "I brought chocolate and churchkhelas; and I'm happy to somehow help other children."
Vakhtang took part in the march along with his small son. "This is an old custom. All the guys are happy, everyone feels nice. Today we have Christmas; and I congratulate you on the occasion. Let this Christmas bring all the best to us and our children!" he told the "Echo of the Caucasus".
