In Armenia, unidentified persons burn down car of editor-in-chief of "Lori" TV Company

In the Lori Region of Armenia unidentified persons set the car belonging to Narine Avetisyan, editor-in-chief of the "Lori" TV Company, on fire. The Vanadzor office of the Helsinki Civil Assembly treats this fact as another attack on the journalist.

According to human rights defenders, in the morning on January 17 Ms Avetisyan, intending to go to work, opened the gate of the garage in her yard and saw a burnt-down car. An oiled piece of cloth was found on the car, which was thrown from the top, through the vent, from where the criminals also poured some inflammable.

According to the "Armenia Today", the woman excludes the domestic nature of the incident. Over the last five years this is the third case of inflicting this or that form of damage to Narine Avetisyan.

The Vanadzor office of Helsinki Civil Assembly treats this act as another attack on the journalist: "Unfortunately, law enforcers have failed to detect the 'authors' of all previous encroachments, which has contributed both to this attack and to formation of the climate of impunity in general," runs the statement of human rights defenders.
