In Dagestan, graduates of graffiti school to be involved in social advertising
Graduates of the Makhachkala school of graffiti will be engaged in decoration of house facades and placement of social ads.
Pupils are taught how to choose paint, correctly give volume to letters and combine fonts and colours.
"We give paints and all the necessary equipment to them," Zaur Kakhrimanov, Chairman of the Committee for Youth Policy of the Republic of Dagestan, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. "Guys are happy to take part in out projects, dated to the Victory Day; together with the GIBDD (State Traffic Safety Inspectorate) they were involved in creating social ads on road traffic safety and promotion of healthy lifestyle."
"We're actively working with beginners who want to learn graffiti and develop this modern form of street art. We tell them about the history of graffiti in the world and how it appeared in Dagestan," said Arsen Abdullaev, one of the organizers of the graffiti school, who is representing the team "Free Artists' Unity".
The authorities of Makhachkala have willingly supported the project and allocated areas for young graffiti artists. Now, in the eyes of local residents gray and unsightly facades are transformed into works of art.
According to Mr Kakhrimanov, graffiti artists will be engaged in decorating city streets to all the important holidays celebrated in the capital of Dagestan.
