Azerbaijan and Karabakh report losses and victims in border clashes
Two Karabakh servicemen were wounded by fire from the Azerbaijani side last week, reports the press service of the Defence Army of Nagorno-Karabakh. The latter, in its turn, accused Karabakh of shelling its territory, which killed a private of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan.
"On January 14, at 12:25 a.m. local time (11:25 a.m. Moscow time) in the southeast direction of the contact line (Martuni), a shot was fired by the enemy and wounded Vardan Arutyunyan, born in 1992, in the area of his left clavicle. He was taken to the military hospital. His condition is satisfactory," runs the statement of the Karabakh side.
Besides, the information and propaganda division of the Defence Army of Karabakh reports that a similar incident was registered on January 15 at 5:20 p.m. local time (4:20 p.m. Moscow time) in the eastern direction of the contact line (Askeran). "As a result of the fire opened by the enemy, Private Khachatur Aslanyan, born in 1992, was wounded in his arm. He was hospitalized, and his condition is satisfactory," noted a source from the division and added that "details of the incident are scrutinized."
Meanwhile, the press service of the Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan has reported that today at about 12:30 a.m. near the village of Chilebert, Terter District, fire from the Karabakh side killed Azerbaijani soldier Azadaliev Mamed Rasim ogly, born in 1990, the IA "News-Azerbaijan" reports.
