Four persons killed by explosion in Khasavyurt
Today in Khasavyurt, Dagestan, an explosion in a cafe killed four persons and wounded five more, the Investigatory Committee of the Russian Federation reports.
"At about 7:30 p.m. on January 14, 2011, in Khasavyurt, near the cafe "Belye Nochi" (White Nights), located on the Bam Highway, unidentified criminals blew up a VAZ-2107 car. According to preliminary data, two workers of the cafe and two visitors were killed, and five persons more were hospitalized in critical condition," runs the statement posted on the website of the Committee.
An operative-investigatory group is now studying the place of the incident; an opening of a criminal case is considered, the "Interfax-South" reports.
According to a source from law enforcement bodies of Khasavyurt, an explosive device, according to preliminary data, was planted either in a car parked outside the cafe or under the car.
According to the latest data, three persons injured in the explosion in Khasavyurt are in the resuscitation ward of the hospital. "Ten persons were brought to us from the place of the incident; three were dead and three are now under intensive care," the RIA "Novosti" quotes its source from the reception department of the city hospital. "Besides, there are also people, who take outpatient care."
