In Georgia, Sanakoev's statement on work for FSB is not taken seriously by politicians

The statement of Vladimir Sanakoev, a former employee of the pro-Georgian administration of South Ossetia, who is currently in Russia, that during his stay in Georgia he fulfilled instructions of Russian security services and was a secret agent, was regarded as frivolous by Georgian politicians and experts.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Vladimir Sanakoev, a former associate of the head of the pro-Georgian temporary administration of South Ossetia Dmitri Sanakoev, said at a press conference in Vladikavkaz on January 9 that since 1989 he had been cooperating with Soviet and Russian intelligence agencies.

The text of Vladimir Sanakoev's speech and his memorandum can be found on the website Uasdan.com.

As stated in the comment of the press service of the pro-Georgian administration of South Ossetia, which arrived at the editorial board of the "Caucasian Knot", "in 2010, Vladimir Sanakoev retired from the administration as he was going to move to Russia and settle in Sochi."

"As to the disseminated information about the alleged Sanakoev's 'espionage' activities, we should like to note: it is difficult to define from the words of third parties which part of the contradictory and fragmentary information published by Internet outlets can be trusted," emphasized the comment of the press service.
So far, no officials of South Ossetia and Russia have commented on Vladimir Sanakoev's statements.
