Nagorno-Karabakh denied involvement of its servicemen in injuring Azerbaijani soldier
As reported by Senor Asratyan, press secretary of the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Nagorno-Karabakh, the information of their Azerbaijani counterpart that the Karabakh armed forces had broken the ceasefire and wounded an Azerbaijani soldier is not true.
Earlier, the press service of the MoD of Azerbaijan had reported that at about 8:15 a.m. near the village of Marzilli, Agdam District, Armenian armed forces opened fire at the opposing positions of the Azerbaijani Army. As a result, Ulvi Iftikhar oglu Guseinov, 19, was heavily wounded.
"The armed forces of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic are respecting and consistently observing the ceasefire. The statements of the Azerbaijani party are just another piece of disinformation," said Asratyan.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the military authorities of Azerbaijan and Nagorno-Karabakh are periodically accusing each other of breaking the ceasefire and of skirmishes that burst out from time to time. In 2010, several such incidents were registered with casualties and victims on both sides.
Thus, on November 19, as a result of the incident that occurred in the southern direction of the contact frontline of Nagorno-Karabakh with Azerbaijan, four soldiers of the Defence Army of Nagorno-Karabakh were killed and four more wounded. During a skirmish on October 26 at the contact line, a Karabakh serviceman was killed.
On August 31, the Azerbaijani MoD reported about shelling of the positions of its Armed Forces from the positions of the Karabakh Army, which resulted in three Armenian casualties and several more wounded; while two soldiers were lost on the Azerbaijani side.
