Deputy head of "Rustavgaz" detained in Georgia
The Investigatory Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia has detained four persons, including Rostom Tsertsvadze, deputy director general of the "Rustavgaz" Company, on suspicion of concealment of a large amount of taxes.
Other detainees are the Company's employee Murman Papuashvili and chief specialist Giorgiy Egutidze, and director of the Limited Liability Company (LLC) "M & B" Shakro Mirotadze.
According to investigators, the employees of the "Rustavgaz" and "M & B" entered a conspiracy to hide real figures and receive cash benefits. It turned out that the "M & B" was daily consuming some 10-11,000 cubic meters of gas, whereas the tax records indicated only 4-5,000.
Inspectors assert that it caused substantial damage both to the budget of Georgia, and to the company "Itera-Georgia", which is the supplier of both companies.
The case was initiated under Article 210 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which assumes deprivation of freedom from four to seven years, the "Georgia Online" reports.
So far, the suspects or their defence have made no comments.
