Residents of refugee camp in Maysky village live without heat and electricity
Over 2,000 displaced persons - 500 of them are children - from the Prigorodny district of North Osetia living in a refugee camp in the village of Maysky still have no electricity and gas. Residents of the Maysky camp told it to the Caucasian Knot correspondent on November 24.
To remind, the Maysky camp was cut off the village's power grid by Osetian authorities' order in the beginning of October because the refugees had not paid for the electric energy used. The Osetian party asserts the camp's debt to Sevkavkazenergo comes to 6,871 thousand rubles.
The displaced persons are in the situation when they themselves are unable to pay for electric energy but the budget of the Republic of North Osetia - Alania does not proved for funds that can be allotted for this purpose. Moreover, the camp originated as a spontaneous settlement, there was no approval of the Osetian authorities for it, and it has no official status. This rules out the possibility for its inhabitants to reckon on the help of the state.
Repeated addresses of the refugees to various bodies, including federal ones, have produced no result.
