Publication of opposition newspapers suspended in Baku

The opposition newspapers "Novoye Vremya", "Yeni Zaman", "Yeni Musavat", "Azadlyg" and "Khurriyet" have not been published in Baku since November 15. Their publication was suspended because publishing houses that printed them refused to sell paper. The problem with the paper has not been settled so far.

Editors of the opposition newspapers are sure that the paper crisis was created artificially. The point is that the import of newsprint to the country is arranged in the way which gives authorities an opportunity to use it as a form of pressure. And that is what they are really doing. It is confirmed by the fact that newsprint is sold to all other periodicals without any limitations.
