Vladikavkaz: attempt on candidate for Russian State Duma elections

In the evening of November 5, Ruslan Makayev, who is registered as a candidate for the State Duma elections in North-Osetian single-mandate constituency 22, was severely beaten near his house. Since September 30, human rights activist Ruslan Makayev has been advocating constitutional rights of the officers of law-enforcement structures as leader of the public organization "Law Is Superior to Power". The authorities have been vainly trying to disperse the picket at Svoboda Square of Vladikavkaz for two months, and they still do. But now the threats of physical violence are being made a reality.
