Pro-government bloc leads Georgia's parliamentary elections

The Georgian Central Election Commission told Interfax on Tuesday that, according to information received from 2,716 polling stations, the pro-government For New Georgia bloc is in the lead in the November 2 parliamentary elections with 20.6% of the vote.

All in all, 2,870 voting stations were opened in Georgia on November 2. At some of them the elections have been declared invalid because of the violations and at some other stations the second round of the elections will be held.

For New Georgia is followed by the Union of Democratic Revival (led by Adjarian head Aslan Abashidze) with 18.8% of the vote; Saakashvili - National Movement with 18.1%; the Labor Party with 12.2%; the Burdjanadze - Democrats bloc with 8.1%; The New Right bloc with 6.7%; and the Industry Will Save Georgia bloc with 4.9%.
