Council of Europe has stated violation of rights of Armenians and refugees in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan is a country where rights of refugees, foreigners, religious minorities and Armenians are violated. It is stated in the report prepared by the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance. In accordance with Baku?s sources, the experts from the Council of Europe visited Azerbaijan in March last year. They met officials as well as human rights activists and representatives of non-government organizations. Meanwhile several Azerbaijan human rights activists who had met European experts expressed bewilderment towards such a formula in the report of the CoE. In particular the Chairman of the Committee on Democracy and Human Rights Chingiz Ganizadeh said that the problem of minorities in Azerbaijan had not been discussed with experts of the CoE during the conversation. ?Unfortunately there are people who send unreliable information abroad?, he supposed.

  • In Volgograd, court recognizes absence of HIV therapy in prison hospital

    The Central District Court of Volgograd awarded prisoner Ruslan Mitrofan compensation in the amount of 1000 roubles, recognizing that the administration of a prison hospital in Volgograd violated the prisoner’s right to receive medical care by not providing him with an HIV medicine.
