In Imereti Lowland, people are resettled by force to new houses

On July 16, the authorities started forcing residents out of their houses in the area, where Olympic objects will be built. This week, the Adler District Court has issued enforcement orders. Those who failed to buy new homes are accommodated in boarding houses.

"Today we have the last day; my husband tries to take our things remaining in the house. I can't help him, as I sit with our 4-month child at our friends' home. My husband says that the process is watched by court marshals," said Elena Gusliakova, a local resident.

"We decided to choose monetary compensation instead of a new house," she said. "But we have nowhere to live - we haven't bought an apartment yet. Therefore, we place our things at our friends' and live with them."

The authorities offered the Gusliakov family a new house in Nekrasovskoe settlement, specially built for resettlers. However, they were frightened away by poor quality of houses, the "Gazeta.Ru" writes.

Meanwhile, the Sochi administration has reported that living conditions in Nekrasovskoe are essentially better than in the Imereti Lowland, where there is no centralized water and gas supply. Also, as they noted, under desire of future owners they did partial or full internal furnishing of the houses.
