Girl - student of Grozny university was abducted in Grozny

About 400 people gathered yesterday to hold a meeting in front of the building of the Chechen government in Grozny.

The people were protested against the abduction of Elina Gakayeva, a 19-year old student of the physical and mathematical faculty. Military men, who came in an APC, took the girl away last Friday. According to information of the Agence France-Presse, Elina's relatives turned to all possible bodies, including human rights activists, but there were no result.

About 20 military men arrived at the place of the action in two APCs to disperse people holding the meeting. They demanded that everybody break up. But no body listened to them. As a result, the soldiers took several shots in the air and left, the people holding the meeting kept standing near the building.

No official comment has been received from the administration of Chechnya so far.
