Two districts of Georgia damaged by rains

Because of continuing torrential rains in high-mountainous Mestia District of Georgia, rivers have overflowed the banks; 17 automobile bridges were destroyed; and about 10 km of motorways are out of operation. The nature also damaged the Tsalendzhikh District.

18 villages of the Mestia District are in isolation; dozens masts of power lines were tumbled down; several villages are without electricity, and losses of livestock and poultry are in hundreds; this was reported by the administration of the Mestia District.

Groups of rescuers and employees of the Ministry for Protecting the Environment and Natural Resources of Georgia are deployed in the district. The communication with isolated villages is only by mobile telephony, the ITAR-TASS reports.

Some villages of the Tsalendzhikh District have ground-floors flooded. Plenty of crops are destroyed, and livestock was lost, the "Georgia-Online" adds.
