Ten supposed militants liquidated today in Dagestan

They were killed in two armed clashes that burst out in Dagestan today. Six of them were killed in the course of the special operation conducted in Stary Kostek village, and four more were shot dead in the city of Derbent. The general losses of the federal forces made four casualties and eight wounded servicemen.

The bodies of the six supposed militants liquidated in the course of the special operation were found in the ruins of the house in Stary Kostek, Khasavyurt District of the republic. "The active phase of the special operation is over; we now examine and clear the ruins; so far, six bodies of liquidated militants have been found," the press service of the Department of the FSB of the Russian Federation for Dagestan has reported.

The National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC) has added that three out of six liquidated militants were already identified. "There are losses also in the federal forces," the NAC's information centre reports. Earlier, the Russian ICPO had reported that at storming the house, where the armed criminals had hidden, four law enforcers were lost also four more wounded.

According to the NAC, the special operation in Stary Kostek was conducted by security forces and employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs against the so-called "Khasavyurt bandit grouping" under command of Adam Guseinov, which specialized in attacking and killing militiamen. "The militants who found shelter in private houses were offered to surrender but rendered armed resistance," the NAC told the "Interfax" Agency.

Four supposed militants were liquidated today in a suburb of Derbent, where since morning employees of the FSB and local MIA conducted joint operative actions. The armed clash took place near Derbent in the area of the tunnel in the Federal Highway "Rostov-Baku".

Agents of the FSB and militiamen from the Derbent GUVD (Chief Interior Department) blocked a Zhiguli car with four persons inside suspected of membership in illegal armed formations (IAFs). When asked to present documents, the passengers opened fire. The NAC reports that all the four were liquidated by response fire.

"The following persons were identified among the casualties: Elbrus Abdulayev, leader of the Derbent grouping, militants Farid Mistriev and Zakir Magomedov and their active helper Mais Sevzikhanov," the information centre of the NAC reports. Earlier, they reported that the liquidated militants "belonged to the South-Dagestan bandit grouping of certain Validzhanov, who had committed a number of militiamen's murders."

Earlier, the Investigatory Department of the ICPO for Dagestan reported that four militiamen were wounded in a skirmish in Derbent, as the "Newsru.com" reports.
