Deputy prosecutor of the Baksan district has been killed in Kabardino-Balkaria

In Kabardino-Balkaria, in Baksan, an official spokesman for the Investigations Committee of the Prosecutor General's Office Vladimir Markin informed, "At around 10.20 pm two unidentified men made numerous shots pointblank from guns at the deputy prosecutor of the Baksan district, who died on the spot."

A criminal case on the grounds of the crimes set in Article 317, Part 2, § 222 ("infringement on life of a law enforcement officer", "illicit trafficking in firearms") was opened, ITAR-TASS informs.

Assistance in field investigation is given by investigators and criminologists from the central investigation department of the Investigative Committee of the North Caucasus and Southern federal districts.

We will remind that on 19 May, near the community militia office in Nalchik, an explosive device with a force equivalent to 5 kg TNT detonated. Some hundreds students were evacuated from a nearby school. No harm done.

On 16 May, not far from the employment center of the Elbrussky district, a private security team, consisting of two militia officers, was fired by unidentified persons from automatic weapons. As a result, one of law enforcement officers had been wounded.

On the night of 10 May, in Baksan, as a result of unidentified persons' firing at a checkpoint of road traffic safety inspectorate (GIBDD), one militiaman was killed. The same night there was found a pipe bomb.

  • Two natives of Northern Caucasus injured in shootout near “Wildberries” office in Moscow

  • In Volgograd, court recognizes absence of HIV therapy in prison hospital

    The Central District Court of Volgograd awarded prisoner Ruslan Mitrofan compensation in the amount of 1000 roubles, recognizing that the administration of a prison hospital in Volgograd violated the prisoner’s right to receive medical care by not providing him with an HIV medicine.
