Dagestan FSB: organizers of railway-station terror act liquidated in Derbent

Today, the head of the FSB (Federal Security Bureau) of Dagestan has announced that Teimur Gulmetov and Sadula Chiruglanov, who were killed on May 9 during a special operation in Derbent, were organizers of the terror act on May 7 at the Derbent railway station; while the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Dagestan reported detention of five militants' helpers.

On May 9 in Derbent, employees of law enforcement bodies blocked, in the course of their special operation conducted in the vicinity of mosque "Arafat", suspected militants in a private house; some time later they were killed. The casualties were identified as Sadula Chiruglanov, a native of Azerbaijan, born in 1989, and Teimur Gulmetov, a resident of Derbent, born in 1989.

Today, Vyacheslav Shanshin, head of the FSB of Dagestan, has stated at the briefing that exactly these persons had organized the explosion at night on May 7 in the platform of the railway station in Derbent, when three militiamen and five peaceful residents suffered, and one woman later died in hospital.

The "Interfax" reports with reference to the press service of the FSB of Dagestan that at the search conducted in the house of supposed militants components of a self-made explosive device were found identical to those detected in parts and fragments after the terror act at the Derbent station.

Ali Magomedov, Minister of Internal Affairs of Dagestan, said at the briefing that militiamen had detained in the morning on May 9 five suspected militants' helpers at a post in Derbent, who had two sub-machine guns, a grenade with a fuse and plenty of ammunition. The MIA believes that these persons were preparing a number of terror acts in territory of the city during the Victory Day celebrations on May 9, the RIA "Dagestan" reports.
