Attempt on criminal department head of Achkhoy-Martan
Head of the Achkhoy-Martan criminal investigation department Bauddi Merjoev suffered as a result of an explosion in the district center of Achkhoy-Martan, Chechnya. To all appearances, the attempt was aimed exactly against Merjoev as he has had regularly lunches in the cafe near which the explosion occurred. Merjoev has a bad character in the Achkhoy-Martan district: district residents suspect that officers of the structure that is under command of Merjoev conduct illegal and ungrounded detentions and abductions of people, along with officers of Russian law-enforcement structures. Merjoev was taken to hospital with leg injuries.
