The number of people who suffered from explosion in Dagestan grows to 17

The explosion of a suicide bomber near the traffic militia post in Kazbek district of Dagestan has resulted in two casualties, 17 people have been wounded, scores of cars damaged. These are the corrected data of the Investigation Committee under the RF prosecutor's office.

"According to preliminary data, the explosion has resulted in the death of two militiamen, five more law enforcement officers have been inflicted wounds of different degree of seriousness. Additionally, about 12 more persons have suffered", runs the RF ICP site.

According to the investigation data, ten cars have been damaged. A crater more than two meters in diameter and about one meter deep has been formed at the place of explosion.

According to the Dagestan MoI, a suicide bomber has exploded himself near the militia post tonight.

Meanwhile, according to the MoI data, militiamen have prevented a terrorist act in the city of Khasaviurt by stopping a car.

"A suicide bomber driving a "Priora" Lada with a powerful self-made explosive device in the saloon was driving to Khasaviurt for committing a terrorist act. In the course of preventive actions, militiamen tried to stop the car. Thus, at the cost of their lives, they prevented an act of terrorism", cites the RIA "Dagestan" a highly placed source in the republic's MoI.
